We had a great day on the beach. Started playing frisbee in the morning and after a few minutes, a group of guys that we had seen on the beach the day before came over and challenged us to a frisbee football game. Drank beer, played frisbee and made new friends. It was a great day.

Had my doubts when I heard the name was Moonglow, but our family had a great time and we've reserved it for next year. There were nine of us and the house was very comfortable, One block from the ocean and a beautiful pool really added to the fun. Definitely recommend it.

I've just read about the most incredible development - an iPhone app that translates your baby's cries (unsurprisingly it's called the Cry Translator). It claims to recognise the broad meaning of a baby's cry within seconds, letting you know whether your little one is hungry, sleepy, annoyed, stressed or bored.

There was an interesting quote in The Telegraph which prompted me to write this blog -

I think this is a great idea for a group. I also have run into folks from Blackwater and came away with the same sense. There must be more to the story than what I keep reading about. SEALs are generally the most well-trained, follow the rules (or they die) group you'll ever meet. And the concept of honor is central to their being. Anyway, I hope others will join in that know more about all the crap you read in the newspaper

I’ve heard (and this intuitively makes sense) that those working at Xe
(Blackwater) can only say so much about what goes on there. Not because
they’re necessarily doing anything wrong, rather because they’re working
under contract for groups like the US State Department and are bound by
strict confidentiality agreements. I also know that the founders come
from the military community and many with SEAL backgrounds. If you know
anything about that caste, and have spent any time with them, you know
when faced with adversity they simply bear up. It’s not in their DNA to
appear to be whining and complaining. While great for the job of being a
warrior, I’m not sure that’s the best approach to marketing yourself in
a crisis when fighting the media huns.
