His parents seem inept at raising the substantial cash necessary, so she returns to the workforce, but somehow stumbles into a lucrative job as a sort of sex worker. She’s mortified and scared of what her family will think when they find out how she’s raising the money, and yet she’s discovering new things about herself that she never knew before. “Irina Palm” is a fascinating drama about the lengths one would go to in order to save a loved one.

“The Joneses” (2009)
Steve and Kate Jones move into the gorgeous suburban neighborhood with their two teenagers and soon dazzle their neighbors with their trendy clothes, latest technological gadgets, and perfect family life. Everyone quickly tries to keep up with the Joneses. But who are they really? Demi Moore and David Duchovny star in this delightful comedy that makes us look at our consumerism in a new light.

“One Wonderful Sunday” (1947)
Akira Kurosawa’s “One Wonderful Sunday” follows a young couple as they wander in war-ravaged Tokyo looking for work, for lodging, for ways to pass the afternoon. While exploring various social issues about post-World War II Japan, this film celebrates love against all odds.
