A Video that Makes Sense

Steven Roddy's video makes a lot of sense. It reminds any business person, or organizational leader and manager, that it is important to establish a plan and to then test it against the market for reasonableness. Many businesspeople do not do that, instead relying on gut feel or emotion to generate the right path forward.

Sometimes it is tempting to jump on a new idea, and jump forward. You can argue that this is an approach that is consistent with Roddy's model, as long as it is a part of a plan-and that the role of such an activity in that plan is research. But if there is no plan at all, then this activity lacks the context for action that produces results.

  1. Reviews provide feedback that acknowledges a job well done or lets others know how to improve something.
  2. Reviews are read by others in the community and encourage others to participate.
  3. Honest, sincere reviews are crucial.
